Jordan Johnson (Head Coach)

Coach Johnson is a proud member of the Friendswood High School Class of 2009.  He received a BS in Psychology from LSU and played wide receiver for the Tigers. Coach Johnson is in his 11th season of coaching high school football. He began his coaching career at Rockwall High School in 2014 where he coached for 6 years and in a total of 18 playoff games, 1 state quarter-final game and 1 state semi-final game. After Rockwall, Coach Johnson served as the Offensive Coordinator for the Denton Guyer Wildcats from 2020-2022. In that 3 year span, Denton Guyer played in 16 playoff games while making 2 state semi-final appearances and 1 state championship appearance in 2021. In addition to numerous players that have gone on to play at the college level, two notable players Coach Johnson has coached and mentored are Jaxon Smith-Njigba of Rockwall (Seattle Seahawks) and Jackson Arnold of Denton Guyer (Oklahoma Sooners). Jaxon Smith-Njigba finished his high school career 3rd in receiving yards and touchdowns in Texas High School football history and was also named the Texas High School Gatorade Player of The Year in 2019 along with being named an Army All-American. Jackson Arnold finished his high school career with over 7,000 yards passing and 67 touchdowns in 2 seasons. Jackson Arnold was named the National Gatorade Player of The Year in 2022 along with being named an Under Armour All-American. Coach Johnson and his wife, Madeline, welcomed their daughter, Caroline, on December 13th 2023. They also have a 9-year old English Bulldog named Coach. In his downtime, Coach Johnson and his wife enjoy spending time with Caroline and Coach and traveling.

Clint Toon (Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks)

Coach Toon is a native of Kilgore, Texas and is entering his 16th year of coaching and his 1st year at Friendswood. He previously coached at Texas High in Texarkana for the past 13 years and Kilgore High School for 2 years. He received his bachelor’s degree from Texas State University where he played Quarterback for the Bobcats for 3 years. He also earned his associate’s degree and played 2 years of Quarterback at Kilgore College. Coach Toon and his wife Megan, who is a 2009 Friendswood graduate, have two daughters Audrey (6) and Cameron (3).

Steven Griffith (Defensive Coordinator)

Coach Griffith is from Magnolia, Texas and is entering his 18th year of coaching and his 9th at Friendswood. He has previously coached at Liberty HS, Port Neches-Groves HS and A&M Consolidated HS. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston and his Masters from Lamar University. Coach Griffith and his wife Amber have two children Grant (13) and Joanna (11).

Steven Kenny (Run Game Coordinator/Offensive Line)

Steven Kenney is from Pearland, Texas and is entering his 12th year of coaching and his 1st at Friendswood. He has previous stops at Pearland, Dawson, and Clear Lake where he has coached Offensive Line, Tight Ends, and Linebackers. He received his Bachelors in Math and Chemistry and a Masters in Business Administration at Texas State University, where he played offensive line for the Bobcats. Coach Kenney and his wife Heather had two boys, James (7) and Henry (3).

Aron Robinson (Defensive Passing Game Coordinator/Safeties)

Aaron Robinson is from Pasadena, Texas and attended college at Henderson State University where he earned his M.A. in Sports Administration. He played football for Henderson State for 5 years and went on to coach football, basketball, & soccer at the intermediate and high school levels for his hometown. He is entering his third year with Friendswood, serving as the ​varsity safeties coach & head freshman. Coach Robinson and his wife Chae have a two and half year old daughter, Penelope, who looks forward to being a FHS graduate, Class of 2041. He enjoys golfing, traveling, and playing with his two dogs – Red & Maizy.

Daniel Valenzuela (Special Teams Coordinator/ Linebackers)

Danny Valenzuela is a native of El Paso, Texas and a graduate of the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) with a degree in Political Science and a Masters degree in Education Administration. This will be his 24th year as a teacher/coach and second year at Friendswood High School. Danny has experience coaching defensive line, inside linebackers, outside linebackers, and safeties and has experience as a Defensive Coordinator (El Paso Eastwood, Pasadena Sam Rayburn). Danny will be teaching Health at Friendswood High School this year as well as coaching wrestling. Danny is married to Norma Gomez-Valenzuela and enjoys spending time with friends and family, his two dogs (Bella and Jules), working out, watching movies, and reading. 

Brandon Clemons (Offensive Line)

Brandon Clemons is a native Houstonian and graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Science in Education in 2021. This will be his 5th year in Education and 2nd year at Friendswood, teaching Texas History at Friendswood Junior High School. Coach Clemons will also be entering his 2nd season this spring as a member of the Baseball Staff. Off the field, Brandon enjoys spending time with family, golfing, fishing, and working out.

T.J. Benson (Offensive Line)

T.J. Benson is from Central Square, New York. He graduated from Utica College in 2014 where he received his B.A. degree in English while playing lacrosse. Coach Benson works in Special Education at Friendswood High School. This is Coach Benson’s 7th year coaching football and 9th year at FHS. Coach Benson is also entering his 10th season as the FHS Boys Lacrosse head coach. Coach Benson enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with family and friends in his free time.

Luke Williams (Assistant Quarterbacks)

Luke Williams is originally from North Carolina, and graduated from Wake Forest University in 2016. Last year was his first year at Friendswood High School, where he was a football and basketball coach. Before he moved to the Friendswood area, he spent five years in Austin teaching and coaching as well. He is married to his wife, Cheyenne Williams, and they have one son, Wilder Williams, and are expecting their second son in September of this year. Go Mustangs!

Brian Bielamowicz (Wide Receivers)

Brian Bielamowicz is a native of Houston, Texas and graduated from Texas A&M University with a B.S. degree in Science with a minor in History. He has been coaching football at FHS for 19 years and teaches in the Special Education department. In addition to coaching football, he has been an assistant soccer coach for 17 years. Brian is married to Amanda, who is an assistant principal at FHS. They have a daughter, Addison, who plays in the FHS band and a son, Logan, who aspires to play football for the Mustangs one day. Coach Bielamowicz enjoys duck hunting, golf, and spending time with his family.

Nathan Roher (Running Backs)

Nathan Roher is a native of Friendswood & FHS graduate, and this is his 30th year teaching and coaching at FHS. He earned his B.A. degree from Friends University and a Masters in Education from the University of Houston. He teaches AP World History. He has been married to his lovely wife, Tena, for over 30  years. They have four children: Elaina (Spanish teacher), Sallianne (McGovern Medical School), J.T. (University of Houston) and Nate (10th grade). He enjoys family, fishing, and Tex-Mex food.

Michael Gibson (Tight Ends, H-Backs)

Michael Gibson proudly graduated from Friendswood High School in 2019. He continued his academic and athletic career by playing college football at both Blinn College and Missouri Western State University. After completing his playing career, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Humanities from the University of Houston–Clear Lake, with minors in Advanced Writing and Communication. For the past three years, Coach Gibson has served at Friendswood Junior High as an athletics coach, where he coached a variety of sports. He now enters his first year teaching English at Friendswood High School. In Michael’s free time he enjoys leading at Younglife, cutting the yard, and spending time with family and friends.

Timarcus Davis (CornerBacks)

Timarcus Davis is a native of College Station, Texas and attended Baylor University and Arizona State University with a degree in Integrative Health and Psychology. This will be his 1st year as a substitute/coach and first year at Friendswood High School. Timarcus has 20 years of experience as a football player, speading five years in collegiate football and two years of playing professional football with LA Rams and The Montreal Alouettes.

Margus Hunt (Defensive Line)

Margus Hunt is a native of Estonia. Came to the United States to attend SMU for Track and Field. During his time in college, he tried out for the football team and played for 4 years for the powerhouse SMU Mustangs. In 2013 coach Hunt was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the second round of the NFL draft and ended up playing for 9 seasons in the National Football League. Coach Hunt retired from the NFL in 2023 and after his retirement, he coached defensive line and helped out with throwing events for Track and Field at Fort Bend Christian Academy from 2023 and 2024. Coach Hunt and his wife Heather have three children, Liam, Haegen and Hadleigh. Coach Hunt enjoys spending time with family, raising chickens, and cooking.

Bobby Blankenship (Defensive Line)

Bobby Blankenship is a native of Santa Fe, Texas. He received a B.A. degree in History from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. Blankenship is in his 11th year of coaching for the Mustangs. In addition to football, Blankenship teaches US History and also coaches Basketball.  Coach Blankenship’s wife Courtney is a Special Education teacher at Pasadena Memorial. Coach Blankenship and his wife have one daughter, Emerson (2 years old) and one son, Rigley, that they welcomed in March. During their free time, they enjoy spending time with family and friends. He enjoys lifting weights, reading, and barbecuing.

Jared Yawn (Defensive Line)

Jared Yawn is a proud graduate of Friendswood High School Class of 2022 and is said to be one of the biggest Friendswood fans out there. This is Jared’s 4th year of coaching in FISD and will be his 2nd year on the high school coaching staff. He is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Public Service Leadership from the University of Houston at Clear Lake. When Jared isn’t on the football field he enjoys worshiping the Lord, leading youth, and living life to the fullest. Jared is excited to spend another year with the high school staff and is looking forward to a great season.

Alec Petrocelli (Strength and Conditioning Coordinator)

Coach Petrocelli joins Friendswood High School as Strength and Conditioning Coordinator, after being the Director of Strength and Conditioning at Katy Seven Lakes High from 2023-2025. During his tenure at SLHS the Spartans finished 2nd in the 6A Lonestar Cup in 2024 and 6th in the Lonestar cup in 2025. Prior to SLHS Petrocelli was a Strength and Conditioning intern with the football team at The University of Georgia in 2022. During his time he was a part of a SEC, Peach Bowl, and National Championship. From 2020-2022 he was the Defensive Line coach at The University of North Carolina at Pembroke. During the 2019-2020 school year he was the Director of Strength and Conditioning as well as a football coach at McLoud High School in McLoud, Oklahoma. From 2017-2019 he was the Tight Ends/H backs coach and NFL Liaison at Oklahoma Baptist University. Petrocelli got his start in coaching in 2016 as the Defensive Line coach at Greensboro College in Greensboro, North Carolina. He is certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association with his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification. Petrocelli was a member of the varsity football program at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 2010-2013. Where he also received his Bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sport Science in 2014. Petrocelli is a native of St. Petersburg, Florida.

David Rojas (Assistant Strength and Conditioning )

David Rojas born and raised in Houston, Texas, where he grew up playing baseball and football. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology–Exercise Science from the University of Houston and is a proud Dobie High School grad. He will be heading into his 3rd year as an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach at Friendswood High School, as well as serving as Head Weightlifting Coach and Assistant Wrestling Coach. When he is not coaching, you can find him on the golf course, watching baseball, or lifting heavy.

Blake Lapier (Head Athletic Trainer)

Blake Lapier is a native of Lake Jackson, TX. He has a BS degree in Athletic Training from the University of Texas. He also holds a MA in Sports and Fitness Administration from the UH. This will be his 6th year at FHS.  He previously worked at Alvin High School and was a graduate assistant athletic trainer at the UH. He is married to Robyn, who is a teacher at Clear Lake High School. They have 2 children, Ainsley & Anderson. Blake enjoys outdoor cooking, spending time with family, and watching NASCAR.

Tevin Dent (Assistant Athletic Trainer)

Tevin Dent is a League City, TX native and graduated from Clear Springs HS (2015). He earned a B.S. in Athletic Training from Sam Houston State. Tevin is also certified in Dry Needling Therapy. This will be his 6th year as an AT and 5th at Friendswood HS. Tevin previously worked at Friendswood JH (2019-2020) and continues to work multiple games providing health care for NBA referees (Houston Rockets). Tevin currently resides in Webster with his Fiancée Annah. They both enjoy spending time with family, watching movies, and playing with their dogs, Biscuit, Mika and Ivy.

Sage Payton (Mize) (Houston Methodist Outreach Athletic Trainer)

Sage joined Friendswood High School as an outreach Athletic Trainer through Houston Methodist in January of 2024. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University and went on to complete her Masters at the University of Arkansas. She is certified in blood flow restriction (BFR), Dry Needling Therapy, corrective exercise specialist (CES) and soft tissue manual therapy. She has previously worked at Clear Brook High School and most recently completed the 2023 MLB season with the Houston Astros as part of their medical staff. Sage resides in Pearland with her husband Eric. They both enjoy the outdoors – spending most weekends kayaking, fishing or road tripping to the Hill Country.
