Meet the Mustangs is one of Friendswood’s most beloved traditions. Every August, hundreds of families pour through the gates at Henry Winston Stadium for a night unlike anything else our community puts on. It is loud, it is fun, and it is full of moments you will not forget.
It is a night that reminds everyone why Friendswood is such a special place to call home.
Every Friendswood High School sport and spirit program sets up their own space on the field and track, and the energy is electric from the moment you walk through the gates. Young kids make their way from booth to booth, trying sport-specific activities, collecting giveaways, and walking away with signed balls, photos, and souvenirs they will hold onto for years. Each program brings something unique to the night, and the athletes are right there in the middle of it, genuinely engaged, having fun, and giving the kids an experience they will talk about for weeks.
The community shows up, and the athletes show up right back. Local vendors are on site with food and fun throughout the evening, and as the sun goes down the whole night wraps up with a pep rally that sends everyone home fired up for the season ahead.
